Grayson's Kindergarten Graduation!

I am so excited because my son graduates from kindergarten tomorrow! I am going to give him this card and tape some money inside for him! He absolutely loves stamping so I know he will like this card (especially the money part lol).

I didn't have one single graduation stamp in my vast collection (gasp!) so I thought I would give a digi image a try. I am still on the fence on the digi images. They have pros and cons. Here is what I have found so far.

Pros

  1. Instant gratification
  2. Cheaper than rubber
  3. Takes up less space then rubber

Cons

  1. You will waste some cardstock trying to print it out right the first few times
  2. You can't emboss with them
  3. Don't lose the file otherwise you will have to buy it again
  4. have to be careful when re-sizing as the lines distort
  5. Although they are cheaper than rubber the cost can still add up as I paid about $3 for this one image.
  6. Must heat set the printer ink so it does not bleed

I think I would be more inclined to use more digi images if they had a subscription where you could pay so much per month or year to use all of their images.

Have you used digi images? If you have let me know what you think? I am always curious to hear more.

Recipe for card

  • basic black cs
  • whisper white cs
  • digi image (Ian from The Greeting Farm)
  • copics
  • nestabilities classic circle large
  • dimensionals
  • photo corner punch

Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Challenge!

Alright, here is my last entry for the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer challenge! Tomorrow is the deadline. There are sooooooo many wonderful entries! I would hate to have to be a judge on this contest.

Anyways, this set is going to go to my sons teacher for her end of the year gift. The tin is filled with the Hershey's chocolate sticks. The cool thing about using a tin is that I made my main image of Riley using magnets, this way she can re-use the tin and put riley up on her fridge where I am sure she will adore him everyday! Here is a picture of the main image off to the side.

For this project I used a tin, oval nesties, eyelet border punch, rich razzleberry, melon mambo, dp from cosco, flowers and of course best of all....chocolate! I colored Riley with copics and inked all of my edges with rich razzleberry! Thanks for looking!

OCC Challenge

I decided to finally give the OCC challenge a try! This week they want you to use your favourite border punch! Of course I had to pick the scallop edge because it is so versatile!
I used my punch to make the scalloped square and the scalloped edge on the bottom. If you want to try the scalloped square you can find the tutorial HERE! I used stampin up dp, real red cs, bashful blue cs, and whisper white cs. The image I bought from ebay a long time ago. I colored my duck with copics and the sentiment is from a Stampin Up incentive stamp! Thanks for taking the time to look and hopefully you will go check out the OCC Challenge!

Hanna Guest Designer Challenge

Poor Riley is lost and doesn't know where the party is! I'll tell him where the party is, it's HERE! Come on over to the Hanna stamps forum and check out their guest designer challenge. You have a chance to become a guest designer for a few months! How cool is that!

Anyways, this is my third card for the challenge. I finally got to take a break from mudding and taping my new craft room so I was able to get another card done. I used copics for coloring, the arrows are made of chipboard that I got from CTMH, the sentiment is computer generated and the background was cuttlebugged using the spots and dots folder. Thanks for taking the time to check my card out!

Hanna Guest Designer Challenge

Alright, I actually found time to make another card for the Hanna Guest Designer Challenge! I have been busy mudding and taping the new rooms that we just added on to our house. Let me tell you, mudding and taping is noooooooooo fun! The only thing that keeps me going is that one of those rooms is becoming my new craft room. My little 7 foot by 6 foot craft room is just getting too full. My new craft room is going to be 12 feet by 12 feet with a huge closet and French doors thanks to the suggestion from my friend Joycelyn. Soooooooo excited!

Anyways, I used the Hay Hanna set, colored everything with copics, sponged a background, used real red cs, pacific point cs, and very vanilla cardstock. I added some brads and used some ribbon that I found at my local craft store about a year ago. Thanks for taking the time to look. You can also view my card Here in my splitcoast gallery.
